On March 31, AMD will finally end their support for older Radeon graphics cards with the release of the last few Radeon graphics drivers. This will include support for the R9 Fury, R9 Nano, and many other older Radeon graphics cards. This will also include support for drivers for AMD APU, and AMD Crossfire. Not all Radeon graphics cards will receive the latest AMD drivers, but all AMD APU will receive the latest AMD drivers.

The end of life for AMD’s Radeon R9 Fury X, R9 Nano, and many other older Radeon graphics cards is approaching. AMD announced this week that the company will end driver support for all Radeon graphics cards older than the R9 380X by September 2018. This means that no new driver updates will be released for any of these older graphics cards.

AMD announced its plans to end driver support for the R9 Fury, R9 Nano and Radeon 300 series of graphics cards on Friday. The action is part of AMD’s plan to shift focus to its Polaris architecture, which is the foundation for the upcoming Radeon RX 500 series.

AMD supplements today’s release of the new Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.6.1 driver with the announcement that support for many older Radeon graphics cards has been discontinued. This includes the Radeon R9 Fury, R9 Nano, R9 300|200 and Radeon HD 8000|7000 series products. As mentioned in an AMD blog post, the latest driver supporting these older models is Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.5.2. The Red Team also reported that Radeon software support for 64-bit Windows 7-based operating systems has been deprecated.
