Persona 5 Strikers – How to fix FPS Drops, Lag and Stuttering

This performance guide will show you some steps to eventually fix performance issues like SPF drops, lag and stuttering in the Persona 5 Strikers PC.

I’ve said it before in my other Persona 5 Strikers guides, and I’ll say it again. Make sure your system can handle the game. If it can’t, there’s no point in trying to fix it. What are the recommended specifications of the P5S system you are asking about?

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: 10, 64 Bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-3470 / AMD FX-8350
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 (2 GB) / AMD Radeon HD 7970 (3 GB)
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Disk space: 25 GB available disk space

I don’t think the official system requirements are correct. The Persona 5 Strikers cannot run at 1080p 60fps on GTX 680 and i5-3470, which can be very demanding in some cases. So here are the recommended system requirements that I think should be met.

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • Operating system: Windows 10 64no
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 / Ryzen 5 1600
  • Memory: 12 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (3 GB) / AMD RX 570
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Disk space: 25 GB available disk space

Persona 5 Stryker – Better graphic settings

  • Graphic quality parameters (general) – user-defined
  • Shadow – Bottom
  • Texture quality – Medium
  • Smooth – In progress
  • Environment – Exit
  • Flower – Out
  • Radial blur is disabled.
  • Rating Scale – 1.0

The game is still being tested on the GTX 1650. The test results will be announced soon.

Error in rendering scale

In this game, there is a bug with the Rendering Scale parameter that doubles the value of this parameter. And this causes the game to work very poorly for some users.

Fortunately, there is a fix for this error that has worked for many users. Here is a solution suggested by the Steam /Apollo user:

So if you were originally playing the game and you could run it at, say, 4K 60FPS, you paused, went back to the game and noticed that your performance was halved. Then you tried changing the resolution scale from 2.0 to 0.5, but to no avail.

This is probably because the resolution scale you see in the menu does not match what is actually set in the config.xml file found in this file: C:UsersAppDataRoamingSEGASteamP5S

For example, when I first played the game, I had a resolution scale of 1.0 and the game worked very well – 4K 60FPS. Then I took a break, then I went back to the game and now my performance is much worse. When checking the config.xml file, I saw that the resolution scale was set to “20” (equivalent to 2.0), even though the game options still show 1.0.

If I change the resolution scale to “15” in the configuration file, the “in-game” option now correctly displays a resolution scale of 1.5.

Try changing some values in the configuration file, in the hope that this will improve your performance.

Close all demanding third-party applications running in the background.

Third-party applications running in the background can interfere with our games. Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources. Now that you have closed all unnecessary programs. Proceed as follows:

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Click Read More.
  3. Click on the “Commissioning” tab.
  4. Right-click on each item and select Disable.
  5. Restart your computer.

If this solves the problem, activate the startup programs one by one to determine which program is causing the problem. A restart is required between each application that is activated.

Disable the different overlays and background images in Windows

Close all the different overlays that are activated on your system. These include Steam, Discord, Nvidia GFE, AMD. Overlays are known to stutter in many games. So try to avoid them if your system is not powerful.

The recording tool in Windows 10 often consumes a lot of resources, and the recording function always records in the background when you are playing a game. So turn it off immediately to give yourself a boost. Here’s how:

  1. Open Windows settings
  2. Click on the games
  3. Select the handles
  4. Deactivate background recording

These are all corrections that I recommend you try first. Yes, there are other corrections as well. But I can’t recommend them because there is no proof that they work. I will keep an eye out for the Persona 5 Strikers community. And as soon as I find something that works, I’ll post it here.

Let me tell you that the Persona 5 Strikers contains a third-party Denuvo anti-fraud DRM.

If you have no idea what it is, I’ll tell you that Denuvo is a tamper-proof technology and digital rights management system known for protecting games from piracy. It is known to cause terrible performance problems in games, and the problems you encounter in Persona 5 Strikers are probably all due to Denuvo.

If you think this guide helped you, please let us know in the comment box below. And, for more information on Persona 5 Strikers, keep an eye on Frondtech. We’ll be covering all the technical issues and bugs in the game. Good luck!

Can latency lead to a drop in FPS?

Whatever game you play, you will enjoy a much lower SPA if you have a slower internet connection. A slower internet connection results in a higher ping, which in turn can block players … The offset is related to the lag, so if you have a lag, it will be attributed to the lag.
