If you’d like to celebrate their lying skills, I’ve compiled a list of the biggest liars in anime history. As always, I’m aware that there are many other liars I didn’t include, so feel free to share your own ideas in the comments.

Ever wonder how some anime characters just know when to jump in and out of a scene? When they’re doing something good or bad? Or how some characters seem to be able to know when to get in or out of someone’s way? Well, it’s because they’ve got spidey-sense and they know how to lie and manipulate.

If being cheated on in real life is a huge embarrassment and an insult, you can make great stories out of it.

Whether it’s hidden villains or a secret agent about to be exposed, lying can be a lot of fun when you’re not the direct victim.

Let’s take a look at the cream of the crop in anime and make a list of the biggest liars to ever appear in an animated film.

And a warning of serious spoilers to come. As you know, the liar is usually exposed at the very end of the show.

12. malty melomarc

Anime: The revolt of the shield hero

I hate this character with the fury of a thousand suns.

We immediately learn that she has a snake tongue, for it is because of her that our protagonist is banished from the kingdom.

I understand there is a stigma against shield heroes in this world. But to go so far as to accuse him of sexual assault is a whole other level.

And she wasn’t a unique phenomenon either, as she tried to smear the Shield Hero name at every opportunity.

God, I want to punch her in the face.

11. Arataka round dance

Anime: Mob Psycho 100

Ragen, on the other hand, I love him.

Even though he spouts lies every time he opens his mouth.

But in his case, it’s kind of a necessity for him to get food on the table.

Every client he receives, he knows how to deceive in some way; whether it is an exaggeration of a problem or a complete fabrication, you can be sure that his services will seem necessary.

But deep down, he’s a good guy who doesn’t lie to the people closest to him. So I blame capitalism.

10. Kyubey

Anime: Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Cuubey is a tricky one, because he doesn’t lie explicitly, but he is deceptive.

It’s like the quintessential university.

I say this because many of the good things touted by the university can happen to you, but the negative aspects are conveniently overlooked.

That’s why Kyubey never lied. But do you really think someone would choose to be a magical girl if they were completely honest and transparent from the start?

Not at all.

9. Rachel

Anime: The Tower of God

And we go back to the list of people I want to put on the screen.

Since we didn’t find out his big lie until the end, we still don’t know how things will turn out. We don’t know how many more lies she’ll tell.

But still, she’s a certified traitor.

After all, there’s nothing more deceiving than pretending to be someone’s real friend and then pushing them off a cliff seconds before you win.

Bam wasn’t the smartest. So it didn’t take much to fool him.

But I think it’s safe to say she’ll be playing her game with the rest of the cast for a long time to come.

8. Satsuki Kiryuuin

Anime: Kill la Kill

Satsuki was such a good liar that she even deceived the public.

Satsuki was initially portrayed as a villain at the end of the game, but in the second half of the story she completely changed her attitude and showed how virtuous she really is.

She must have been cunning enough to deceive her own mother and sister without anyone suspecting her true motives.

In anime, we often see perverted villains. But I can safely say that the secondary characters are just as entertaining, if not more so.

He really deserves to be on this list.

7. Hisoka Morou

Anime: The Hunter and the Huntress (2011)

Deception is Hisoka’s middle name.

And it’s no secret that he likes to deceive those around him.

Even someone like Chrollo couldn’t recognize his disguise and have him join the Ghost Squadron.

And even in battle, we see how much Hisoka loves to lie – and what he’s willing to do to deceive his opponent.

I mean, sacrificing a hand to embarrass your opponent in front of a large audience is the biggest risk you can take.

Is it any wonder that even we, the audience, don’t quite understand what this clown is going to do next?

6. Laurent Thierry

Anime: The Great Pretender

If you’re the world’s best con man, lying comes naturally to you.

And Laurent is the perfect example.

He draws everyone around him like a great puppeteer and even has the nerve to have coffee with them.

It’s so good it doesn’t even need the surprise element of anonymity.

Even after Makoto lost all his trust in Laurent, he allowed himself to be drawn into her grand plans and danced on the palm of her hand.

You have to admit this person has some serious skills.

Although it must be very lonely when even the people closest to you don’t believe a word you say.

5. Togame

Anime: Katanagatari

This is a tricky question, because Togame is both extremely sneaky and honest.

I say this because she was the one who exposed all her lies when she died in Shitika’s arms.

And oh my god, I didn’t see it coming.

She played it like a violin, as did the entire fan base.

Perhaps even more impressive was that she lied to herself at every opportunity, letting her emotions stay true while her mind had very different motivations.

It seems a little confusing. But you’ll see what I mean when you watch the show.

4. Squeaker

Anime: From the new world.

That little bastard has kept us all busy.

I’m pretty sure everything he said on screen (except in the last episode) was a complete lie.

He managed one of the biggest and most detailed revolution shots I’ve ever seen in an anime. And he even defeated almost the entire human race.

The only reason I don’t put him higher on this list is that he was suspected of being a liar early on.

It didn’t derail his plan, but I have to give him some points for being noticed.

3. Nana Hiiragi

Anime: A grandmother without talent

The next three fall into the category of undercover villains, because that’s the best platform for lies.

And you should really give it to Nana.

Not only did she manage to kill many of her classmates, but she also managed to deflect the blame over and over again.

But the most impressive thing is that she managed to convince everyone present that she could read minds while still being a normal person.

The only reason I didn’t put them higher on the list is because their opponents were probably much dumber than the other characters higher on the list had to endure.

2. Angelo Lagusa

Anime: 91 days

It’s one thing to look someone in the eye and lie.

But Angelo took it to a whole other extreme.

In fact, he became best friends with his archenemy and managed to evade suspicion until the very end.

And that doesn’t mean he was twiddling his thumbs. He had other targets and managed to destroy them all without ever blowing his cover.

And unlike Nana’s case, he wasn’t dealing with high school students, but real mafia members.

The only thing that can top that achievement is lying to the world’s best detective or something.

Speaking of which…

1. Light Yagami

Anime: The Book of Death

When it comes to undercover villains, Light is probably the first thing everyone thinks of.

Not only was he tracking the world’s greatest detective, but he also had to communicate with his stalker on a daily basis.

They had to pretend to be friends while trying to ruin each other.

But even if Light was under the strictest surveillance, no one could catch him.

It took a third party throwing themselves at him of their own accord to finally catch this impostor. And even then, he didn’t feel like he deserved it.

Really, the only king of lies in anime. While the anime world is filled with characters who attempt to deceive others to obtain some euphoria or sadistic pleasure, not all of them are liars. There are those who are full of integrity, and those who are full of pride. Here are some of the few who are full of themselves, all the while pretending to be honest.. Frequently Asked Questions

Who lies the most in anime?

For the most part, anime characters are pretty honest about their feelings, especially their love interests. From the cute, innocent love confessions in “Skip Beat” to the obvious “I love you”s in “AnoHana” and “Charlotte,” most anime characters seem to have a way with words. However, when dealing with open relationships, lies, or secrets, anime characters can be just as deceptive as their American counterparts. Lying in anime is widespread. Varying between anime and game shows, the anime world is filled with all kinds of lies: lies about the past, lies about the present, lies about the future, and lies told by both friend and foe. This list is a comprehensive list of those lies that are told the most in anime.

Who is the most famous liar?

Let’s be honest: not every person in the world is a good person. But some people are willing to lie about their actions, their age, their status, their job, and even their name. If you can’t trust your own mother, who can you trust to always tell the truth? I’m gonna start with a popular lie that you may have heard many times, and that is that. Looks like a samurai. That’s pretty much it. And this is the lie that has probably been told the most, especially in anime. If you think that only people who are completely unaware of their own lies are going to fall for it, think again. There are anime characters who know that they are lying and do it anyway. This is just one of those lies that people choose to believe.

What are the 4 types of lies?

No matter how good a liar you may be, there are always 4 types of lies: 1. Pure and simple lies of omission. 2. Lies of commission. 3. Lies of convenience. 4. Lies that you simply don’t know are lies. You’d be forgiven for thinking that the Flash is the only one capable of lying in this week’s episode of “Arrow”. But in actual fact, the Reverse Flash is probably the biggest liar in the show’s history. In addition, the new assassin has the distinction of being the most “flashy” liar in the show’s history.
