We all assume it’s not easy being a vampire when you have to regularly drink the blood of living prey, avoid sunlight, and shoulder the burden of living forever. However, with the release of the multiplayer survival game V Rising, we will be able to appreciate how difficult the life of a vampire is, since the players will have to survive not in an alien world, but in the gothic world as their own little Count Dracula. Or Count Dacula. V Rising by Stunlock Studios, developers of the multiplayer arena game Battlerite. The game promises a huge open world full of mythical beasts, dangerous people and diverse locations ranging from dense forests to dark dungeons and monster caves. As a vampire, players must take care to feed themselves properly and plan their movements according to the day-night cycle. Players can upgrade their little vulture by learning weapon skills and vampire abilities, and they can even build their own vampire castle to create their own dark army and hideout for friends and allies. As for friends, the game can be both cooperative and competitive, as players can form alliances or raid the castles of other vampires in the game. As for combat, the emphasis is on the active shooter model with WASD and cursor control, as in most MOBAs (or perhaps the more appropriate Battlerite). The Q&A with one of the game’s developers outlines the features of V Rising in , confirms that the night lasts longer than the day, hints at additional threats such as garlic, holy places, evil nuns and possibly werewolves, confirms that PvP is full-lock and that death will bring players back to their starting point naked in a coffin, and indicates that servers are expected to support 40-80 players and 50 castles, though these numbers are subject to change. By the way, V Rising will have private servers that allow players to focus on PvE or PvP. No date has yet been set for the closed beta test ofV Rising , but players can request the game on Steam or sign up to participate in the beta.
